The trailer for STAR TREK: VERY SHORT TREKS pays homage to the original animated series in an entertaining way

THE Star Trek the franchise celebrates 50 years Star Trek: The Animated Series this Star Trek Day with Star Trek: Very Short Trips. It’s a series of five animated shorts that will debut weekly and “celebrate the bold, the silly, and the unusual in the Star Trek animated universe.” It looks like it will be full of fun Star Trek ridiculous.

Star Trek: Very Short Trips comes from Casper Kelly (Too many cooks, Star Trek: Short Treks) and the shorts are made in the same style as the original Star Trek: The Animated Series and the voice cast includes many familiar actors such as Jonathan Frakes as Will Riker Douglas Jones like Saru, Armin Shimermann like Quark, Ethan Peck as Spock, Gates McFadden as Dr. Beverly Crusher, Celia Rose Gooding like Uhura, Connor Trinner as Journey Tucker, Bruce Horak in the role of Hemmer, Noël Wells as Tendi, e George Takei in the role of Sulu.

The first Star Trek: Very Short Trips The episode will air on Star Trek Day, September 8, on StarTrek.com and the official Star Trek YouTube channel. Four additional animated spots will debut weekly Wednesdays through October 4 at 10am PT/1pm ET. Their titles and release schedule are as follows:

  • September 8 – “Skin a Cat”

  • September 13 – “Feast of Holidays”

  • September 20 – “Worst Contact”

  • September 27 – “Holograms, all the way”

  • October 4th – “Walk, don’t run”

Kelly has also worked with IDW Publishing Star Trek: The Animated Celebration features the Scheimer barrier. The first chapter of the comic will debut September 8 on StarTrek.com with additional chapters debuting weekly Wednesdays on StarTrek.com at 10:00 AM, PT/1:00 PM, ET. Physical copies will be available at New York Comic Con in October.

This Star Trek Day marks the 50th anniversary of Star Trek: The Animated Series. In addition to Star Trek: Very Short Treks and Star Trek: The Animated Celebration Presents The Scheimer Barrier, Star Trek celebrates five decades of animation with its current hit animated comedy, Star Trek: Lower Decks. Fans can attend free Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 promotional screenings, offering sneak peeks, free concessions, giveaways and more. Fans can register here. Screenings will take place in Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, St. Louis, Washington DC, Vancouver, Calgary and London.
