Disney+ has released a new teaser trailer for its upcoming series adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. They also announced that the series will premiere with two episodes on December 20, 2023.
The series tells the fantastic story of the 12-year-old modern demigod played by Walter Scobell, “who is just coming to terms with his new supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master thunderbolt. With the help of his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on the adventure of a lifetime to find him and restore order to Olympus.
The series is also starring Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Arian Simhadri as Grover Underwood, Lin Manuel Miranda like Hermes, Megan Mulally as Alecto aka Mrs. Dodds, Toby Stephens like Poseidon, Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson, Jason Mantzukas as Dionysus aka Mr. D, Jay Duplass like Hades, Glynn Turman like Chiron aka Mr. Brunner, the late Lance Reddick like Zeus, Adam Copland like Ares, Charlie Bushnell like Luca Castellan, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Jessica Parker Kennedy like jellyfish, Olivea Morton as Nancy Bobofit, Suzanne Cryer like echidna, Tim Sharp such as Gabe Ugliano, e Timothy Omundson like Hephaestus.
Author Rick Riordan AND Jon Steinberg wrote the pilot, e James Bobino directs. Steinberg will oversee the series with his producing partner Dan Shotz. The series is said to stay true to Riordan’s vision of the story.
