A new trailer and poster for the Australian surfing crime drama have been released Children of summerhero Isabel Lucas, Joe Davidson, Temuera Morrison, Christopher Pate, Steve Nation, Jonathan Weir, Alex FleriAND Victory Fleri. The film is directed by Clive Fleury (Play the game, Fatal past, Big city blues), from a screenplay written by Phillip Avalon and Greg Clayton.
The synopsis reads:
In the spirit of Point Break comes this dazzling thriller mixing crime action and incredible surfing stunts. To celebrate the anniversary of his father’s death, Sean takes his friends on a road trip to his surfer father’s favorite beach. But Sean’s drug-dealing friend forces him to do one last favor—stealing a shipment of heroin from a local mobster—and the crime lord retaliates by kidnapping Sean’s girlfriend in an attempt to get his drugs back. Will Sean be able to get back to town in time to save both his life and his?
It looks like a cheesy rip-off of Point Break without star power, but it could be watchable if you don’t set expectations too high. Check out the trailer and movie poster below and watch Children of summer in select US theaters and on VOD July 28.
