Paramnount+ has released a collection of preview photos and a poster for its upcoming launch Cemetery for pets prequel movie Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. The film will tell an untold chapter of the terrifying novel by Stephen King.
The story is set in 1969 and centers on a young Jud Crandall who “dreams of leaving behind his hometown of Ludlow, Maine, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within it and is forced to face a dark family history which will forever keep him connected to Ludlow.Bundling together, Jud and his childhood friends must battle an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding and, once unearthed, has the power to destroy all in its path.
I’ve always been interested in Jud’s backstory, so I’m excited to see that story told in this film. The lore of Pet Semetary is a fascinating one, and there are a lot of prequel stories to tell, but I love that they’re telling this one. If it goes well and people tune in to watch, maybe we’ll get more stories.
