While we all wait to watch Jason Statham fighting a giant butt shark again Meg 2: The Trenchdirector Ben Wheatley hope you get to a third meg movie! The director already has ideas on how to expand the story and continue to explore this world that he created. During an interview with Total Film, he said:
“You don’t want to talk about it until Meg 2 is out, but I hope so. There’s so much more to explore in that world. It’s very rich. Its internationality is very interesting.”
The director went on to talk about the franchise and what they did with the first movie so clever:
“What’s so clever about the first movie is that it’s not rush hour. It’s not East meets West, ‘Oh, we’re all confused about each other. It’s just people working together and found in a daily adventure, and people happen to come from places all over the world. I think that’s good for the audience, and it’s a good message too.”
