THE BOYS spin-off series GEN V will be ‘more shocking’ and filled with ‘really crazy shit’

Producer Seth Rogen he’s out advertising The boys spin-off series Gen V, and describes it as “most shocking” and filled with all kinds of “really crazy shit”. We got a little taste of it in the previously released teaser trailer.

The project is inspired by the G-Men, which is a parody of the X-Men In The boys comic series. “Set in America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (operated by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal and competitive Supes as they test their physical, sexual and moral limits, vying for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger games – wholeheartedly, satire and vulgarity of The boys.”

When it comes to the shock factor of the series and some of his other projects including The boys Season 4 and Sausage Part: FoodtopiaRogen explained to Empire that “each of them” has scenes that can go toe-to-toe with the craziest, craziest moments of The boys. He added:

“Generation V contains some really crazy stuff. The fact that they’re in college, they’re a little younger, maybe it makes it more shocking. In general, if you’re doing an R-rated thing, they’ll let you do whatever the fuck you want, unless there’s something really legal they think you might be bumping into. With The Boys, maybe an extra five-minute phone call is needed, where they say, “Really?”, and you say, “Really.” There are other things you are phoning about for hours that are far less interesting than that.

Rogen went on to talk about the madness of Sausage Party: Foodtopia saying, “There’s a specific scene that had a special screening for the Amazon PR people. You should all start thinking about this now. You’ll probably have to talk about it a lot.’”

He went on to say that the series will be “incredibly shocking,” and even caught the cast off guard. He added: “We had Kristen Wiig picking up some lines the other day, and I think we’ve all become desensitized, because we’ll just say, ‘Spin the scene!’, and then she’s like, ‘Oh my God?! This is crazy!'”

It seems that Seth Rogen is enjoying playing in the sandbox of profanity, debauchery and ultra-violence.
