Elliot page (The Umbrella Academy) is set to the opposite star Hillary Baack (Metal sound) in a new film project titled Close to you. The story centers on a character named Sam (Page), “who has a chance encounter with an old friend (Baack) on his way home to a dreaded family reunion that forces him to confront long-buried memories.”
The film is directed by director Dominic Savage (I Am…), who also developed and wrote the story together with Page. Savage said in a statement, “It has been an amazing experience collaborating with Elliot Page on this very special and unique film about love, identity and family. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved with the film. It has been an honor to work with Elliot to bring this touching, personal and important story to life and to the screen.”
Page added, “I’m proud to have worked with Dominic and Hillary on this beautiful film. It was a pleasure to work with them and the incredibly talented cast and crew. I look forward to sharing it with the public soon.”
Manufacturers Anita Go (Goodbye, sweetie) and Sam Intili (I’ve seen TV shine) continued, “Dominic and Elliot’s story of love and belonging resonated with us immediately when we first heard about Close to You. This film is an act of pure trust and partnership between the two of them. . Dominic offers his actors the opportunity to explore their craft in radical ways and we can’t wait for audiences to see the power and vulnerability in Elliot’s performance.”
The film is produced by Krishnandu Majumdar AND Riccardo Yee, who developed the project under their UK banner, Me + You Productions; AND Daniel Beckermann AND Chris Yurkovich by Good Question Media in Canada; and the roll of the dice Nia Vazirani (The Chicago Process 7).
