The manufacturer behind the Paranormal activity franchise, Steven Schneider, is teaming up with iconic rock star Slash and Malkier Studios to develop a slew of new horror films. The collaboration is said to focus on “IP-based horror, animation and thriller content creation.”

The first project in development is a horror film titled Janus which is led by Jason Zada (The forest), from a screenplay written by Nate Atkins. The story of that film “will follow three band members who seek refuge in an old farmhouse where they meet a woman who is hiding an untold secret.”

The film is the protagonist Alex Neustaedter (american rust), Natalie Alyn Lind (Big Sky), Jack Kilmer (Lords of Chaos), Grace Van Dien (Stranger things), AND MC Gainey (emperor).

The next project is a period horror film titled The remains worthlesswhere it comes from Director X (Superfly) and writer Not Ranum (The Silencing). It is described as “a terrifying new twist on a historical trauma”.

Schneider said in a statement, “Producing a horror slate with innovators like Jason Zada and Director X is a nightmare come true. These stories are fresh and exciting and I can’t wait to see them made in collaboration with Malkier Studios. Together, I am confident we will elevate the genre to new heights.”

DC Producer Cassidy said, “We are thrilled to be working with Schneider and Roy, two of the most successful horror producers of all time. Their track record – and box office receipts – speak for themselves. But more importantly, they have the creative vision to make these films successful. We plan to build a long and fruitful relationship with Room 101 and Spooky Pictures and are honored to be a part of this dynamic partnership.”

Hopefully, these creative teams will produce some awesome and scary horror content!
