The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to make steady progress, but it’s not without challenges along the way. From the resignation of Vice President Victoria Alonso to actor Jonathan Majors’ personal problems and declining audiences and box office revenues, the successful film production company is in a difficult position.

However, to make up for lost ground, the studio is already working on exciting future projects, including films and series that will tell the stories of the publisher’s most beloved superheroes. One such project is the fourth chapter of Captain America, which will be the first not to have the participation of Chris Evanswho portrayed the iconic character from 2011 to 2019.

Instead the witness takes over anthony mackie, who played Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, for several years, since his debut in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Disney Plus). Additionally, Mackie recently starred in the Disney+ series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where he showed how his character of him becomes worthy of the shield and title of Captain America.

At the end of the series, Mackie wore the blue, white and red suit with a star on the chest for the first time, the Captain’s iconic suit. This is a clear homage to the comic storyline, where a similar transition occurs.

Now, like the second Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the African-American actor will have his own solo film. However, up until a few hours ago, the title of the film was New World Order. Recently, the American media confirmed that it was decided to change the title.

The title change of “Captain America 4” from “New World Order” to “Brave New World” was done to avoid associations with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and political conflicts. The new title references a classic novel and the film will continue to tackle themes of conspiracy and an ever-changing world. Photo: Marvel Studios.

A conspiracy theory in the name change of ‘Captain America 4’

As Collider reports, “This shift is a wise move, as the concept of a ‘new world order’ has its roots in anti-Semitism. This conspiracy theory promotes a harmful narrative which affects Jewish communities and has, in recent years, gained worrying acceptance among far-right politicians.

Walk away from a potentially offensive headlineespecially considering some of the characters that are introduced in the storyline, it’s definitely for the best.”

In order to avoid political conflicts which could have a negative impact on the box office, Marvel has decided to change the title to Brave New World. This new title is a nod to the classic 1932 novel written by Aldous Huxley, which also explores a secret society that genetically manipulates humanity.

It is important to note that the concepts of “deep state”, “secret governments” and “new world order” will continue to play a fundamental role in the story of the fourth chapter of Captain America, which will be directed by Julius Onah.

On this occasion, the Avenger will face the villain known as “The Leader”, played by Tim Blake Nelson, recognized for his great intellect and his ability to manipulate leaders around the world. In the comics, “The Leader” is one of the Hulk’s main archenemies.

In addition to Anthony Mackie in the lead role, the cast of the film will also include the talented Shira Haas as Ruth BatSeraph, Danny Ramírez as Joaquin Torres and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Bruce Banner’s best known love interest as Hulk.

An exciting addition to the cast is Harrison Ford, who will play General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, a character previously played by William Hurt. Interestingly, in the comics, Ross also transforms into the Red Hulk, which hints at the possibility of Mark Ruffalo joining the production and appearing as Bruce Banner.

Captain America: Brave New World will premiere on May 3 2024 and is currently in the final stages of filming. Fans are eager to witness the new era of Captain America under the leadership of Anthony Mackie, who has demonstrated his ability to bear the shield and the legacy of the iconic superhero.

This new installment promises to explore deep and relevant topics, such as the concept of “deep states” and secret governments, while diving into an intriguing storyline involving a secret society seeking to genetically alter humanity. The film will be directed by Julius Onah, who has shown his talent in previous projects.

With charismatic characters and formidable villains, Captain America: Brave New World promises to deliver a cinematic experience full of action, excitement and shocking moments. Fans eagerly await the release of this film, which will mark a milestone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by introducing the new Captain America and continuing to expand the legacy of this iconic superhero.
