by Lucasfilm Obi-Wan Kenobi it wasn’t as great as it should have been. There was a great story to be told there, but the opportunity to tell that story was wasted on bad ideas and bad writing. Many fans were disappointed with the series, but if Lucasfilm wanted to tell more stories with the character, they absolutely could! Not sure if they should.

Ewan McGregor he seemed to really enjoy making the series, which is really nice to hear. While the final product may not have been the best, it’s nice to know that the cast and crew enjoyed making the show.

During a recent interview, Vivien Lyra Blair, who played a young Princess Leia on the series, revealed that McGregor is begging to return for another season and continue to expand on Kenobi’s story. He told The Direct:

“Well, I think a lot of people are asking me, ‘Are we going to get a second season of Obi-Wan?’ And honestly, I think it’s really a possibility because Ewan is just begging to make another one, he’s really excited.

Blair went on to say that she “would love” to return as Leia as well, but she doesn’t know exactly how that would fit. She said:

“I don’t see how I would fit in, because it’s very much implied that she won’t see him again until he asks for help in the fourth film, A New Hope. And so, I think it’s kind of like, like And so let’s hope for my show there , we think it might be fun to do a Leia show on Alderaan and I really hope something like this can work out.”

While the actors would like to continue their Star Wars journey, Kathleen Kennedy and director Deborah Chow they are not committed to making it happen. McGregor previously said, “I was so happy to do it again, and so happy to be working with Hayden again. I hope we get the chance to do it again.” As for what Kennedy thinks of a second season, he said:

“I always hesitate to say no to more Obi-Wan Kenobi. Maybe we end up doing something that gets incorporated into some of the other stories we’re doing, or eventually into a movie, but who knows? But right now, it’s still our standard stand-alone limited series. We have no plans for expansion at this time.”

When Chow spoke about the future of Obi-Wan Kenobi, he said, “So we really conceived it as a limited series. It’s really a great story with a beginning, a middle and an end. So, we weren’t thinking any further. I think, you know, if it were to go on, it would only be if there was a real reason for another.

If Lucasfilm ever decides to continue Obi-Wan Kenobi’s adventures in a series, they would need to bring in a whole new creative team and make sure the team is led by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoniand take Tony Gilroy involved! These guys know how to tell great Star Wars stories!
