Dwayne Johnson’s YOUNG ROCK has been canceled after three seasons

NBC canceled Dwayne Johnson’S Young rock series after three seasons. The cancellation comes three months after the show concluded its 13-episode third season. This is also the most recent blow for Johnson’s Seven Bucks production company, following last year’s lackluster performance Black Adam at the box office.

According to the report, a major factor in the decision to cancel the series was a steep decline in ratings from the previous season, “handling approximately 1.4 million viewers and a 0.25 rating in the 18- 49, according to live + same-day Nielsen data. Compare that to season 2, which drew an average of 2.23 million viewers and a 0.39 rating. Season 1 was by far the most watched, with averaging over 3 million viewers per episode and an impressive 0.62” demo rating.

Young rock “focuses on different chapters of Johnson’s life. From growing up in a strong, resilient family to being surrounded by his professional wrestling family’s wild characters to playing football at the University of Miami, the show explores the crazy roller coaster that shaped Dwayne into the man he is today and the greatest- extraordinary characters he met along the way.

Dwayne Johnson has been on top of the world for so long making one big hit after another and for the most part he makes fun and entertaining projects! You know what you’re going to get from Johnson when you see his movies. Sometimes things don’t work out, though, like Black Adam or the continuation of Young rock. But, Johnson is returning to the Fast & Furious franchise, so he’s got the thing for him. He’s also set to star in Disney’s live-action remake of Vaiana.
