Chukwudi IwujiThere is The High Revolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 he was rather an insane and maniacal character. He also looked very strange with the tight skin holding his face in place. Beneath that face of him was a gnarled wound from a moment in his background story where Rocket Racoon went berserker in a fit of rage and rage and practically tore the real face of him to pieces!

Towards the end of the film, the true face of The High Revolutionary is revealed and what we saw was horrific, gory and grotesque. He’s the type of villain who’s ugly both inside and out. It turns out that the disgusting face was mostly done with handy makeup effects, which is pretty impressive.

Marvel Studios tends to mostly go with CGI effects these days, and while some of those have been used, the fact that they’ve become mostly practical, I thought was noteworthy. This little information was revealed by the head of the makeup department Alexei Dmitriew during an interview with Awards Radar, and said:

“We did a full make-up for him with this really cool piece of denture that would wear his upper lip. All of that was practical. We had a practical face that we would dress up in blood and all that. The only visual effects were where his eyes sunk in and his nose was pushed in. face to face and coat him with a little slimy blood underneath it.”

Everything about that effect ended up looking incredibly disgusting! The effects team did an impressive job of pulling it off. I’m a big fan of practical effects, especially when it comes to gore and gore and it’s good to see these big budget films still use it.
