While Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be Harrison Fordit is definitive Indiana Jones movie, and people say this will be the last movie in the series, CEO of Disney Bob Iger doesn’t rule out a future for the franchise. With Ford’s time as this character at an end, it makes sense that the franchise would end with him, but maybe not.

Speaking of the franchise’s future, Iger didn’t say this would be the last film. Instead, he said, “The last movie was here 15 years ago. So we’ll see.”

So while we may not see another Indian Jones movie any time soon, it’s leaving open the possibility that perhaps somewhere in the future the franchise could be resurrected in some way, without Ford.

At one point, Disney was looking to develop a spin-off series and they were making pitches. It was later reported that they had decided not to move forward. However, if they ever decide to move forward with a spin-off series, they need to focus on the adventures of Short Round. It’s the only spinoff or continuation of the franchise that I think fans would be open to.

The film is set in 1969 during the space race, with Indiana Jones drawn into another great adventure, involving Voller, a NASA member and former Nazi involved in the moon landing program, who wants to “rectify the world and turn it into a best place as he sees fit”. He is trying to correct the mistakes Hitler made when he was in power with the Dial of Destiney artifact.

The film comes from the producer Steven Spielberg, and is also the protagonist Mads Mikkelsen (Another round), Boyd Holbrook (Logano), Shaunette Renee Wilson (The resident), AND Thomas Kretschmann (The Avengers: Age of Ultron).

The film will be released in theaters on June 30, 2023. Hope to see more Indiana Jones plans after Ford is finished?
