I’m actually pretty excited about the Seth Rogen-product Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Chaos Cartoon movie. It looks like it’s going to tell a funny story and I appreciate the animation style! I also like how they got real teenagers to play the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because they actually come across as real teenagers.

During a recent interview with Empire, director Jeff Row talked about the film and revealed what the vibe they were going for was Stand by Me AND Lady Bird. He said, “We wanted it to be like Stand by Me AND Lady Bird. But, you know, with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I love him because Stand by Me it’s one of my favorite movies of all time.

The director, who worked previously The Mitchells versus the machines, he went on to say that he wanted this to capture the energy of teenage actors so they could make “the ultimate coming-of-age movie for teens.” He went on to talk about the voice actors, saying, “They have a lot of that inauthentic confidence that teenagers have. When you’re a teenager, you don’t know any better, so you operate with this exalted sense of, ‘We can do anything!'”

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are voiced by Micah Abbey like Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. like michelangelo, Nicola Cantu like Leonardo, e Brady Noon like Raphael. These four actors were thrown together in a recording room where they exchanged each other’s energy, and you can feel it when you watch the trailer. These guys were having a blast! I recently watched several minutes of footage from the movie and I think Ninja Turtles fans will love it!

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Chaos, after years sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as ordinary teenagers through heroic deeds. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in the way when an army of mutants is unleashed against them.

The rest of the voice cast includes Jackie Chan like Splinter, John Cena as Rocksteady, Seth Rogen like be-bop, Ice cube like Superfly, Rosa Byrne as Leatherhead, Natasia Demetrius as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd such as Mondo Gecko, e Maya Rodolfo as Cynthia Utrom.

The film will hit theaters on August 4, 2023.
