Don Cheadle shares details on War Machine’s involvement in Marvel’s SECRET INVASION

Don Cheadle returns as James “Rhodey” Rhodes aka War Machine for the first time in the MCU since Avengers: Finale in the upcoming Marvel series Secret invasion. This will lead to his solo film titled Armored wars. Fans have been wondering what we can expect in War Machine Secret invasionand the actor offers some new details.

Cheadle will reunite with Samuel L.Jackson in the series, and they’ve appeared together in several Marvel projects, but they’ve never actually appeared together on screen, in anything, until Secret invasion has arrived.

This story is set in the current MCU, “Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an impending Skrull invasion and save humanity.

Speaking about working together on the series, Cheadle said, “On day one, we sat down and said, ‘This should have happened a long time ago, but it’s great that it’s happening now. Sam is a good friend, and I know him. for a long time. It was nice to be able to sit across from him and go back and forth.”

The series picks up with Rhodey as “the president’s right-hand man” and Cheadle describes him “as someone who works closely with the White House to help contain threats.” He added, “In that one, he doesn’t directly disagree, but kind of on the other side of where Fury is.”

Cheadle went on to praise Jackson’s layered performance in the series saying, “Sam can act, and we really understand why he’s such a revered actor.” Other actors involved in the series include Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulder, Martin Freemann, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneranwith Emilia Clarke AND Olivia Colmann.

The actor when he offers some insight into the tone of the series and compares it with Bourne Identitysaying, “It talks about the elasticity of what the MCU can be. This feels much closer to a movie Bourne Identity or something that’s closer to the tone of a 70s movie. It’s not so much about the bells and whistles of big special effects. It’s more about intrigue and drama and espionage and double-dealing. And I still think it fits perfectly with what the MCU is capable of doing and accomplishing.”

This is what I liked so much Captain America: The Winter Soldier, so I’m excited that we will have more!
