Director James Gunn posted a great behind-the-scenes video to his Twitter account, giving fans a glimpse into what it was like for the actor Chris Pratt to see the realistic fictional version of himself from the film for the first time. This was used in a scene we first saw in the trailer for the film, where the Guardians walk together, and the character Nebula, played by Karen Gillanhe’s carrying the limp body of Peter Quill.

This was achieved by the special effects team who took a body scan of the actor and created this 35-pound mannequin, true to Pratt’s proportions. In the video, Gillan is able to wear it for the first time and Pratt can be heard saying, “Have you ever had an out-of-body experience? This is how it would feel. No kidding! It feels so real, it must have been really weird to watch.
Watch the video below and enjoy. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently in theaters worldwide.
Our editor @FredRaskin he asked us, about two weeks into editing this scene, where the cables were. He hadn’t realized this incredible effect @LegacyEffects it actually wasn’t @prattprattpratt. Our special effects and makeup teams put their heart into this film like any other…. pic.twitter.com/LdSvkPaDly
