Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) is set to star alongside Kate Hudson (Glass Onion) and actress and model Kaia Gerber (Babylon) in an upcoming psychological thriller film project titled Shell.

The film will be directed by Massimo Minghella (Youthful spirit), who previously worked with Moss on The Handmaid’s Tale, in which Minghella co-starred.
In the story, “struggling actress Samantha (Moss) is given the opportunity to get a free trial at Shell, a pioneering health and beauty company that promises to keep its customers young forever. Samantha’s life and career are transformed by her treatment and she develops a blossoming friendship with Shell’s CEO, the alluring Zoe Shannon (Hudson). When a series of former Shell patients disappear under mysterious circumstances, including famed social media star Chloe Benson (Gerber), Samantha begins to fear she is in danger herself.
Minghella said in a statement: “Shell packs an incredibly entertaining genre film with iconic characters and universal themes that are bound to have people talking long after they leave the theater. I’m so excited to bring it to life with this amazing cast and the incredible support from Black Bear International, Love & Squalor and Automatik.”
Moss added, “This is one of the most unique and fun and special scripts I’ve ever read and I’m so honored to be a part of it as an actor and flattered that Max has come to me with this character, who is unlike anyone I’ve ever played.” before. Having worked with Max for years on The Handmaid’s Tale, I’m so excited to be directed by him now, as I’m such a huge fan of his as a director. We at Love & Squalor are also thrilled to be working alongside Automatik and Black Bear , two companies that we greatly admire.”
The film will be produced by Fred Berger (La La Land) AND Brian Kavanaugh Jones (Insidious), along with Minghella, Moss and Lindsey McManus. The script of the film comes from Jack Stanley (Lou). Jamie Bell is also an executive producer.
