As expected, the Writer’s Guild of America strike is causing all manner of film and television projects to go on hold until things are resolved. As for how it’s affecting Marvel Studios, they’ve been forced to delay production Mahershala Aliit’s coming Lama movie.

Pre-production has been temporarily halted and this comes just as the studio has taken over Nic Pizzolatto (True detective) to write the script and he can’t work on that script during the strike, the studio thought it best to push production on reshoots until the script was solid.

Lama will begin production in late May in Atlanta with Yann Demangewho directed the pilot of HBO’s groundbreaking horror series Country of Lovecraft, directed. It was previously reported that Marvel is looking to adopt “a darker tone in this film than other MCU projects in the past.”

My Goth AND Delroy Lindo they are both also attached to star in the film. Marvel has set a release date for September 6, 2024.

As for Thunderbolts and Deadpool 3, according to THR, “Deadpool 3 should go in front of the cameras later this month” with Lightning “still on track” to begin filming in June.

After shooting the previous films in Vancouver, Deadpool 3 will settle in London while Marvel’s Lightning will shoot in Atlanta, Georgia. DAY goes on to say that “Lightning is still on track,” in contrast to the film Blade which was put on hold entirely. Marvel Studios is betting that the strike will end before both of these big productions start filming.

Despite having scripts for their own movies, Marvel Studios does a lot of rewrites on the movies they make as they soot them. As you can imagine, Reynolds’ Dead Pool the films undergo a lot of improvisation by Reyonlds. Projects go forward, writers won’t be able to help out with projects as they roll.

The film is also the protagonist Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin like the bad guy, Morena Baccarin AND Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, Karan Soni as Dopinder, e Leslie Uggams in the role of Al blind. Oh yeah, Rob Delaney he’ll be back as Peter too!

Shawn Levi he is directing Deadpool 3 and will take Wolverine and Deadpool on a wild ride in the MCU. The film will be released on November 8, 2024.
