Co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn worked on the script for his Superman: Legacy film for months, and The Wrap reports that it delivered the draft last week, right before the writers’ strike, and the film isn’t expected to be affected by the strike as production on the film doesn’t begin until early 2024.

Gunn also directs the film, which will introduce a new version of Superman and tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, driven by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
Gunn is currently in the middle of casting, and from what I understand he’s picked the actor he wants to play Clark Kent/Superman. I know a lot of fans are curious who will take on the role and I’m curious to see how fans will react to Gunn’s casting.
When previously speaking about the type of actor she’s looking to cast for the role, she said: ‘It’s tough, but we’re looking, and we actually have some really great choices, which I’m excited about. humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien. It has to be someone who has the kindness and compassion that Superman has. And it has to be someone you want to give a hug.”
Superman: Legacy will kick off the film portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1, and will be followed by The brave and the daring, Supergirl, Swamp thingand more.
Pre-production on the film began last month, with costumes, set designs, and more now in production.
