Emma Watson during scene break: ‘I felt a bit trapped’

Emma Watson explains why she is taking a break from acting. Watson, who rose to fame starring in the Harry Potter franchise as Hermione Granger, said she wasn’t “very happy.”

“I think I felt a little bit trapped,” Watson said financial times in a recent interview. “What I found very difficult was that I had to start selling something that I really didn’t have much control over. To stand in front of a movie and have every journalist say, “How does this fit your point of view?” It was very difficult to be the face and the spokesperson for things that I was not involved in.”

Watson’s last film Greta Gerwig‘S little woman which was released in 2019 and starred Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet, Bob Odenkirk and Meryl Streep.

Over the years, Watson has acted in films such as The circle, Love and the Beast And The bling ring. The star said she felt like she “didn’t have a voice”, leaving her with a sense of frustration.

“I had nothing to say. And I started to realize that I just wanted to face things where, when someone made fun of me, I could say in a way that didn’t make me hate myself, “Yeah, I screwed up, that was my decision, I should have done better,” Watson added.

At the moment, Watson is on her acting hiatus, but assures that she will be back at some point in the future.

“I like sitting here waiting for the next right thing,” she said. “I love what I do. It’s finding a way to do it where I don’t have to split into different faces and people. And I just don’t want to go into robot mode anymore. Does that make any sense?”
