Paramount Pictures and eOne must be feeling pretty confident in theirs Dungeons & Dragons franchise after Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves it became a big box office hit. This isn’t the only D&D project they’re developing Red alert director Rawson Marshall Thurber is working on a series.

The eight episodes Dungeons & Dragons The project was officially handed over to Paramount+ a few months ago and they’ve now hired a showrunner to take it forward. Drew Crevellothe co-creator of AppleTV+ We crashed he will be the showrunner of the series and it will be his first time in a position like this. Previously he has also worked on films such as Dead Pool AND X-Men: first class while serving as Vice President of Motion Picture Production for 20th Century Fox.
There are no official details yet on the project, but there have been rumors in the past that the story “might be” centered around a popular drow ranger character called Drizzt Do’Urden. It has been speculated that the show may focus on Drizzt’s “early life growing up in the drow city of Menzoberranzan, also known as the City of Spiders.”
“Born” in the 1980s, Drizzt is as relevant today as he was then and continues to be a hero to fans old and new who discover or rediscover him. He may not have the greatest sword, but he does what’s right, even when it’s a difficult choice.
Thurber wrote the first episode and will also direct it. I have no idea if the tone of the series will be the same as the film or if it will have a completely different feel. With a property like Dungeons & Dragonsmany different things can be explored and experienced in terms of tone, stories and characters.
