I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews for this movie and I’d say I came across more harm than good. I really don’t know what the critics expected from this movie, but I loved it! It was great fun and I had a smile on my face from start to finish! Also, this film is first and foremost made for children. If the critics can’t tap into their inner child to watch this movie, obviously, they won’t like it!

Of course, it won’t win any of the big prizes. It tells a very simple and silly story, but it tells that story in a fun Super Mario Bros.-style way and it’s executed well. It takes audiences on a wild ride as story heroes Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad battle Bowser and his army of Koopa Troopas to stop them from destroying the Mushroom Kingdom.

I also like the vibrant style of the film, which perfectly captures the style of everything we love about the game. The world of the film feels alive with each location bursting with its own unique personality and charm. Each setting in the film is carefully crafted and the attention to detail is particularly impressive, with hints of the game’s story sprinkled throughout the film.

For me, I felt the movie does a great job capturing the spirit of the game franchise. It even takes all the classic elements of gaming – the power-ups, the enemies, the mushroom-headed citizens – and weaves them into a cohesive narrative that feels like a natural extension of the world we all know and love. I think it fits in with what fans love about the Mario franchise, and there are waves of nostalgia that hit me while watching the movie.

There is a lot of humor in the film with a blend of slapstick, puns and meta references that is sure to please fans of all ages. The film also uses a lot of physical comedy with Mario and Luigi’s fumbling attempts to overcome treacherous obstacles, as well as action scenes that are punctuated with moments of humor that keep the tone playful and fun.

One of the things that shined most in the film is his sense of heart. Even in the midst of all the action and silliness, there’s a genuine warmth and affection for the characters that shines through. Whether it’s the silly camaraderie between Mario, Luigi and Donkey Kong or the tender moments between Peach and her faithful Toad, the film always seems to come from a place of love for the franchise and its iconic characters.

The film is the protagonist Chris Pratt like Mario, Charlie Day like Luigi, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Black Jack as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key like toad, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson such as Kamek, e Sebastian Maniscalco like Spike. They are all amazing in their roles! I know a lot of people were upset about Pratt’s Mario voice, but after watching the movie it works. So much fuss over nothing.

I know not everyone will like this movie. But if you’re able to tap into that inner child of yours, you’ll have a blast watching it. If you go into it with an adult attitude trying to bring it down, you will definitely find things to complain about. But again, this movie was made for kids and if you can watch it with a kid’s eyes, you’ll enjoy it! If you see the film with children, your experience will be amplified by their experience.
