The “Star Wars” universe continues to expand every day to galaxies far, far away to tell their stories. And now, he added a couple of directors who have gone from near-unknowns to winning the film industry’s top award in the last year. These are ‘The Daniels’, who have joined a new series in the world of ‘Star Wars’, after winning with ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.
According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, the directors of ‘Everything everywhere all at once’ working on the series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”.’, one of the new series for Disney+ that is currently being worked on. This schedule was announced during the Star Wars 2022 celebration, with Jon Watts, the director of ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ as the main project lead.
Variety states that “the daniels” will direct an episode of ‘Skeleton crew’, although the full list of directors for the series has not yet been announced. This new series set in the ‘Star Wars’ universe will star Jude Law, from a script by Chris Ford, who previously worked as a writer on ‘Spiderman: Homecoming’.
Details of the story remain under wraps, but Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy told ComicBook that it was inspired by “The Goonies.” While Jon Watts gave some details on the plot: “It is the story of a group of children, about 10 years old, from a tiny planet who accidentally get lost in the Star Wars galaxy. And it’s the story of his journey to find his way home.”

‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ has finished work on ‘Daniels’
The same reports state that the “daniels” have finished the photography of their episode of ‘Skeleton crew’ before the directors took home several Oscars with ‘Everything, Everywhere and All at Once’, recognizing Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis in the corresponding categories as well as Best Original Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture.
The “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” series will be set during the New Republic era, following the events seen in “Return of the Jedi.” Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who have already worked on three seasons of ‘The Mandalorian’ for Disney+, return to repeat themselves as executive producers.
Now, ‘The Daniels’ have signed an exclusive deal with Universal for the next 5 years, after leaving A24, the studio they worked with on their directorial debut ‘Swiss Army Man’, and the award-winning ‘Everything Everywhere’ . at Once’, which you can already find available in the streaming catalog of the Amazon Prime Video platform.
