Directors and cinematographers sometimes have to rely on their audiences’ ability to let them fill in the gaps in their stories with their own interpretations of what they’ve just seen. And while they have no proper explanations for their storylines, there are mysterious movie endings that leave audiences theorizing about what they really mean or what happened before the credits roll.

And it’s not that they don’t have the ability to tell their storylines correctly, they simply prefer to let the audience deduce them ambiguous endings of yellow filmsBecause it’s so much more fun than seeing exactly what happened. Prisoners

Denis Villeneuve is one of those directors who likes to be cryptic and of few words in his stories. one of his the best mystery movies have one of the most puzzling endings, ‘Prisoners’. Here Jake Gyllenhaal’s character grasps once and for all the mastermind behind the kidnapping of two little girls, and when he goes to the scene of the crime he hears a whistling sound in the distance, which could be coming from another of the victims. Lobster

If you want to see one of the twisted mystery movies that provide many theories, this is “The Lobster” by Yorgos Lanthimos, with Colin Farrell, Rachel Weizs, Léa Seydoux and others. The story is set in a world where singles are sent to a hotel where they must find a partner or else they will be turned into animals. Available on Claro, YouTube and Amazon Prime Video.

Taxi driver

In one of Martin Scorsese’s many masterpieces, there is ‘Taxi Driver’, with Robert de Niro, in one of his best remembered roles. The story follows Travis Bickle, a Vietnam veteran who returns from the war, and has problems with insomnia, and to cure them, he starts being a taxi driver on the streets of New York, and after a massacre, he looks at the camera, and shoots himself with the finger on the head. But is he dead? Available on Netflix.

American psycho

Based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, we have “American Psycho”, starring Christian Bale, along with Jared Leto, Willem Dafoe and others. The story follows a successful businessman who is obsessed with perfection and will do anything to fit it in. But as his wildest instincts come to the fore, his soul enters a devastated vortex.

Wrapped in a sci-fi plot, Christopher Nolan has inserted one of the most debated and controversial endings in history into “Inception”. It is a story with Leonardo DiCaprio in which he brings to life a man who has a mission to insert false memories into a target’s memory, but the further he enters the world of dreams, the more he doubts that the reality he is experiencing is the real one. Available on Amazon Prime Video and Claro.
