It has long been reported that Dolly Parton it is one of the main forces behind it Buffy the Vampire Slayer get done and that without her, it might not have happened. Well, that’s all true, as Parton was an unofficial producer on the series through his production company Sandollar, which he launched with his former manager and friend Sandy Gallin.

In a past interview with the Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar, confirmed Parton’s involvement and talked about what that involvement was like. Speaking with Jimmy Fallon, Gellar shared:
“Little known fact, the legend Dolly Parton was a producer and you know, we never saw her. At first we would get Christmas presents with our names on it and I thought, ‘She doesn’t know who I am.’ And then one day someone asked her about it and she complimented the show and my performance. And I was like, ‘Oh, now I can die. Dolly Parton knows who I am and she thinks I’m good.’ Her partner was Sandy Gallin and they produced Buffy.
I love! This is such a fun little trivia, and it’s not the first time something like this has happened in Hollywood where a legend helps make a project work. In the 60s, Lucilla Palla has had a role in launching shows such as The twilight zone AND Star Trek! Legends launching shows that would become legends!
Parton also previously spoke about Buffy The Vampire Slayer on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, in which she said, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a wonderful little show. I was very proud to be a part of it.”
And here’s a bit of trivia you may not have known… Buffy’s birthday is the same as Dolly Parton’s… January 19th, so there’s a fun little giveaway.
