BBC Announces The Gold: The Inside Story Companion Doc

The BBC has given the green light for a documentary telling the true story of the £26 million ($31.2 million) Brink’s Mat heist, which features in Neil Forsyth’s drama. The gold. The gold: the inside story will hear from the detectives who investigated Britain’s biggest gold heist and led the hunt for three tonnes of gold. Archival footage and eyewitness accounts chronicle the cat-and-mouse hunt across borders and continents, exposing a corrupt network of professionals, lawyers and accountants who helped launder the money through a complex network of offshore bank accounts and corporations. With Dominic Cooper and Jack Lowden, The gold The drama ended last week on BBC One to positive reviews and strong ratings. Bohemia Films is producing the documentary, which Simon Young, Head of History at the BBC, says will “give an honest and candid account of the challenges the police have never faced in solving such a colossal crime”. The BBC has in the past provided similar supporting documents for programs such as mandatory line.

Octagon Haus & Friel Films Dorothy Bryant Novel The Kin Of Ata Waiting For You

EXCLUSIVE: Octagon Haus and Friel Films have acquired the rights to Dorothy Bryant’s novel The family of Ata is waiting for you. The two companies will develop the book into a feature film, directed by filmmaker Luke Jaden. The book is described as “part love story, part sci-fi”. Luke Jaden and Diane Michelle will produce for Octagon Haus, and Phil Wurtzel will produce under his Friel Films banner. The deal was brokered between Octagon Haus and Friel Films by agency Kohner’s Stephen Moore, who represents the dramatic rights to the novel on behalf of Random. Jaden is represented by Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz. Wurtzel is represented by Ramo Law.

SkyShowtime starts with event in Madrid

Paramount/NBCUniversal streamer SkyShowtime kicked off this week in Madrid with a glitzy event attended by the cast of the exclusive SkyShowtime series Mean. The singer Miguel Bosé, who is the subject of the biopic, lived with people like Iván Sánchez and José Pastor, who plays him. Model and TV presenter Martina Klein moderated the launch event, which featured a number of the streamer’s shows. Launching in more than 20 territories where Paramount+ and Peacock do not operate, SkyShowtime offers a wealth of programming from the studios’ legacy catalogs as well as new shows.
