Mike Todd

Elizabeth’s third husband was Mike Todd, seen together in Paris in 1958 here. They married in 1957, shortly after her marriage to Wilding ended. Liz and Mike had a daughter named Liza who was also born in 1957. Tragically, Todd died in a plane crash just a year later in 1958.

Elizabeth married singer Eddie Fisher in 1959, shortly after the death of her third husband, Mike Todd. The affair caused a stir, both due to the proximity of Mike’s death and the fact that Eddie had left his wife, actress Debbie Reynolds, for Liz. The couple divorced in 1964.

Richard Burton

Elizabeth Taylor fell in love with Richard Burton while they worked together on 1963’s ‘Cleopatra’ which led to the end of her marriage to Eddie. The famously tumultuous couple married in 1964 and divorced in 1974, only to meet the following year and wed in Botswana. However, things ended for good in 1976. The two remained friends over the years, with Liz her confessing that she was still “madly in love” with the actor when she died in 1984.
Richard adopted the actress’s daughters, Liza and Maria, a German orphan whom Taylor was adopting while still married to Fisher.
The pair spotted her together in October 1982 after it was announced they would be reuniting for their first Broadway show together.
John Warner

Liz became a politician with husband number 7, marrying Republican politician John Warner in 1976. (They are shown here in 1977). The duo were introduced when educated to accompany the star to a banquet in Washington, D.C. hosted by Rainha Elizabeth at the British Embassy in 1976. They separated for two years due to their careers and separated in 1982 The duo remained friends, however.
Larry Fortensky

Liz’s last husband was Larry Fortensky, who she was seen with during Hope Ball’s Berlin archive carousel here. He met her construction worker, who was 20 years her junior, while undergoing rehabilitation at the Betty Ford Clinic. They got married in 1991 at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. They broke up in 1996 and Larry admitted that life in the limelight wasn’t for him.
