Barbara Bosson, a television actress known in the 80s thanks to the legendary series ‘Sad Song of Hill Street’, has died at the age of 83. Her son, Jesse Bochco, confirmed the sad news via Instagram. Bosson passed away on Saturday February 18 in Los Angeles..

Bosson has been a familiar face on the small screen thanks to the aforementioned ‘Sad Song of Hill Street’, in which played Fay Furillo, the ex-wife of Captain Frank Furillo (Daniel J. Travanti), between 1981 and 1986, appearing in a total of 103 episodes. In real life, Bosson was married for 27 years to series creator and one of the key figures in the history of television drama in the United States, Steven Bochco, with whom she had two children and from whom she divorced in 1997.
In addition to ‘Sad Song of Hill Street’, Bosson has appeared in a number of television series since he began his career in the late 1960s, including ‘Emergency’, ‘Ironside’, ‘LA Law’, ‘Hotel’, “Murder She Wrote” ‘, ‘Officer of New York Police’, ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’ and ‘Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
