‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’ may have missed No. 1 at the Spanish box office with the arrival of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, but he can retire from the throne with his head held high and a safe full of Tickets. James Cameron’s film is already the third highest grossing of all time after overtaking ‘Titanic’.

On March 12, she will be one of the protagonists of the Oscars, in which she is a candidate for four statuettes, including one for best film. That award might be unlikely, but what’s hot is Best Visual Effects for the film crew’s incredible work in creating Pandora’s oceans, its creatures, and the spectacular use of CGI in the Na’vi and their faces expressions. Although the running joke is often made that these films look more like an animated film than “live action”, it turns out that in the meantime on the computer there are two completely natural scenes.
This was revealed by Eric Saindon, the visual effects artist of the film, in an interview with Metro: “There is one of Spider’s (Jack Champion) eyeballs and there is another one at the bottom of the ocean with ripples at the bottom of the water”. These are the only two moments in the film that do not have any computer editing or post-production effects. Will have to rewatch the film to try and catch them.
More than 100 times at the cinema
Who at this point must have noticed that detail, and much more, is Rick Pratjé. This Dutchman went to see “The Sense of Water” more than 100 times at the cinema. James Cameron himself and producer Jon Landau sent him a video to thank him for such loyalty (and to contribute in large measure to the spectacular box office figures he has achieved). The Pratjé affair, however, is still far from the record of the American Ramiro Alanis, who went to see ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ at the cinema almost 300 times.
