My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 hits theaters in early fall

Focus Features has set a worldwide release date for September 8th My Fat Greek Wedding 3. This gives the box office a little more room after Labor Day and an option for older moviegoers who already have New Lines this weekend The nun 2 on the schedule.

Written and directed by franchise creator Nia Vardalos, part 3 stars the Oscar-nominated screenwriter alongside John Corbett, Louis Mandylor, Elena Kampouris, Maria Vacratsis, Andrea Martin, Elias Kacavas, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone and Melina Kotselou.

“The sweet friendship that began when the producers first gave me a chance blossomed into a wonderful relationship when they trusted me to direct this part of our franchise,” said Vardalos. “We shot our family reunion entirely in Greece, which was exciting for all of us. We also ate for free.”
