‘Legione’: AMC’s shudder in Spain among Fabian Forte Horror buyers – EFM

EXCLUSIVE: The Argentine Horror by Fabian Forte legions (aka legions) found buyers at EFM.

The feature headlines AMC Networks’ Shudder in Spain, where distributor FilmSharks has signed a deal for pay TV and SVOD. AMC also acquired Eastern European rights.

In Latin America, FilmSharks has signed a multi-territorial theatrical release deal with Aman Kapur’s CineStar. These include Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Central America (Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Salvador, Honduras and the Dominican Republic).

The deals follow a North American deal struck with XYZ Films after it appeared at Montreal’s Fantasia Fest, we first reported last July. The Danube also included several German-speaking areas.

Billed as ‘The bad death Meet Latin America,’ legions follows a powerful sorcerer locked away in an asylum as evil, demonic forces take control of Argentina. If he can escape and find his daughter, their combined powers can save the country, but she has forgotten her powers. The wizard is forced to reteach her the ways of magic so that she can be humanity’s last hope against an ancient evil.

It stars Germán De Silva and Lorena Vega and is produced by Coruya Films’ Javier Diaz.

Director Forte previously directed The dead tell their own story and was deputy director at afraid, it was an original Shudder. Guillermo Del Toro helped produce the remake.

FilmSharks’ Guido Rud brokered the EFM deals on behalf of the filmmakers.
