Head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige officially confirmed it Deadpool 3 will be Marvel’s first R-rated film. We’ve heard for years that this is where the film was headed, with the director Shawn Levi previously teasing how violent and gross it will be. He said:

“We’re writing, rewriting, developing, prepping ‘Deadpool’ every day now. It’s so much fun to laugh every day. It’s so delightful to listen and write and come up with these scenes where people talk shit. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it’s just a ‘Deadpool’ movie.”
When Kevin Feige was recently asked in an interview with EW about what it feels like to have mutants in his brain again, he replied:
“It’s incredible. And we have Hugh Jackman returning for our first Deadpool movie within the MCU. This is our first R-rated movie. Hugh’s return is incredible. For me, personally, that’s where I came from. I remember sitting behind the camera – well, behind the camera – at his audition for the film. It was his first audition on set, and he flew to Toronto to do a reading with Anna Paquin. For he, and for me, and I think for all the Marvel fans, it’s amazing what happened in those 23 years. It’s really come full circle to see him come back in this new Deadpool movie.
The film is the protagonist Ryan Reynolds AND Hugh Jackman like Deadpool and Wolverine and Emma Corrin he recently joined the project and will play the villain in the story. We don’t know much about that story, but I have no doubt, with the creative team behind the film, that it’s going to be a blast!
One thing we do know about the movie is that Wolverine and Deadpool aren’t going to get along. It has been explained that Wolverine hates Deadpool. I also imagine that the film will see them on some kind of journey together. Before Disney bought Fox, the film “was going to be a journey between Deadpool and Logan. Rashmon style. Really.”
A RashmonStyle story is where the same event is told by multiple characters and the stories differ in ways that are impossible to reconcile. It shows that two or more people can view the same event quite differently. I hope they stick to this, because it would be a lot of fun!
