The extras spoke to the media and assure that, on one occasion, one of them asked to go to the bathroom, and they had to “present their case” to the assistant director and argue because it was an emergency. Later, the same assistant scolded them when several gathered to drink a glass of water: “Why do you drink more water? Then you have to go pee again”.
Allegedly, another of the participants also got their attention by telling them that “they have never had to go to the bathroom so much. What are you doing there? ‘Joker 2’ adds a new controversy
It is not the first time that controversy has been heard around the film with Joaquin Phoenix, because in 2018, during the recordings of the first part of Todd Phillips, several extras reported that they were unable to get out of a train car in more than 3 hours. This has forced many of them to have to relieve themselves inside the wagon itself.
At the time, the extras reported the production’s mistreatment to the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, which conducted an investigation into filming. But that’s not all, when the salary between Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga was revealed, the debate on the wage gap in major film productions reopened.
For his part, Joaquin Phoenix will earn more than 12 million dollars for his role in “Joker: Folie a Deux”, while Lady Gaga will earn 10 million dollars for a starring role in the same film. Now, we’ll have to wait until an investigation into the “Joker: Folie a Deux” recordings opens, which opens on October 4, 2024.
