The sci-fi romantic film Daniel forever has cast its lead actor, with Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, Simple favor) set to star. Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo (Colossal) is the director and executive producer together with Nahikari Ipiña of Sayaka Producciones, together with Benoit Roland of Wrong Men, Leire Apellaniz of Señor y Señora and XYZ Films.
Daniel forever, which will shoot in Madrid, Spain this spring/summer, will see Golding play a man struggling to come to terms with the sudden death of his girlfriend in an accident six months earlier. So, he signs up for a sleep trial that allows him to piece together her life with her through the use of lucid dreaming.
It seems a Vanilla heaven vibration. Vigalondo said of the project:
“This film is built around a deeply human character trapped in a convoluted plot, something that Henry Golding is so perfect as to seem almost unreal. I am thrilled with the team gathered around this project and I hope the story conveys everything I want to say about love, dreams and Madrid.”
Golding is a great actor and I really enjoyed Vigalondo’s film Colossal. It was such an original story and execution of the film. I really can’t wait to check out this movie.
