The Netflix catalog is changing. Since the implementation of the new tariff, which implies the possibility of accessing less content in exchange for a lower price, the platform has restructured its titles. On the other hand, there have been numerous cancellations in recent months, which has made many fans nervous. However, no one would have expected that these changes could also affect “Arrested Development”, a series to which the platform itself has decided to give a second chancebut which you will now remove from its content.

Netflix has confirmed this “Arrested Development” will disappear from its catalog starting March 15th. In 2006 it was Fox who canceled it for not having met the expectations of the public, and five years later Netflix took over, giving it a new home and producing its own content, continuing with a fourth season that ran from 2013 to 2018 and a fifth that it aired. it came out in two parts, in 2018 and 2019. For a time there was speculation that there might be a sixth season, but that never happened. Now, that house is crumbling. The red platform has decided to permanently remove ‘Arrested Development’ from its catalog, including the last few seasons produced by its studio.
The series created by Mitchell Hurwitz, which sees in the main cast Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Michael Cera, Jessica Walter, Tony Hale and Portia de Rossi, is practically a cult series within comedyalthough he has achieved great recognition by winning six Emmy awards and a Golden Globe.
Don’t see it anywhere?
While it’s an anomaly to cancel your own series, when Netflix took over the rights to existing seasons, they did so without exclusivity, so the first three seasons are also available on Hulu, the Disney+ channel. However, the big unknown is what happens to seasons 4 and 5, Netflix exclusive content that could be sold to other platforms, Hulu/Disney+ being the obvious choice, or fall on deaf ears. To clarify any doubts, if you haven’t already seen the last two seasons of ‘Arrested Development’, remember that they will all be available on Netflix until March 14thIncluded.
