Ford will play Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in upcoming Marvel films Captain America: New World Order AND Lightning. The role was previously played by Wounded William, passed away in March of 2022 after suffering from prostate cancer.

In a recent interview with THR, Ford was asked what motivated him to join the MCU at this point, and he explained:

“I don’t know. I can’t explain it, I just work here. (Laughs.) I thought, ‘Everyone else seems to be having a good time.’ I watch all these amazing actors having fun [in Marvel movies]. I like to do something different from what I’ve always done and please people. So I’ll try a piece.”

I think he’s going to be amazing in the role and I know the fans are happy to see him play.

Captain America: New World Order will be released in theaters on May 3, 2024; Lightning will be released on July 26, 2024.
