Brendan Fraser Wants Michelle Yeoh to Make Fourth ‘The Mummy’ Film

“The Whale” was Brendan Fraser’s triumphant comeback, and like never before in his career. And all for a performance that earned him an Oscar 2023 nomination. On the other hand, the actor is very interested in returning to one of the most remembered franchises of his career, “The Mummy”. But this time, from the hand of Michelle Yeoh.

In a new talk for The Awardist Podcast (via Entertainment Weekly), Brendan Fraser said he was willing to do it ‘The mummy 4’. It is worth mentioning that it is not the first time that the actor has shown interest in returning to the adventure and fantasy franchise, as in the past he had said he was willing to make a fourth film, after the failure that was the Tom Cruise reboot.

But this time it would not be alone, because Brendan Fraser wants to do ‘The mummy 4’ with Michelle Yeoh: “Sounds like fun. I’m always looking for work. If anyone has the correct concept. I don’t think I’ve ever been so famous, and I’ve never been as unpaid right now as I am right now. So spread the word,” said l ‘The Whale’ actor, out now in cinemas.

Brendan Fraser insists on making ‘The Mummy 4’

In early 2022, Brendan Fraser had expressed interest in returning to ‘The Mummy’ franchise with a new film. In an interview with Variety, he said, “I don’t know how that would work. But I’d be open to it if anyone has the right idea.” As for why he thinks the Tom Cruise reboot failed, Fraser said it lacked “fun.”

“It’s hard to make a film like that. The ingredient we had in our mom that I hadn’t seen in that movie was funny. This was what was missing in this incarnation. It felt like a horror movie and ‘The Mummy’ is supposed to be a thrilling ride, but not terrifying or terrifying.

Now Brendan Fraser is promoting his new film, ‘The Whale’ by Darren Aronofksy, of which Oscar for his performance is said to be more than assured. We will therefore have to wait for March 13 to find out if it will be possible to bring that statuette home.
