Whenever a game is available on multiple platforms, it can be fun and interesting to see how the different versions perform differently. It doesn’t matter if it’s a remaster, a port, a simultaneous release, etc. I find it amusing and interesting to delve into how the different versions fare. One of the best groups looking into these differences in my opinion is Digital Foundry as they will get into the nitty-gritty of the matter and be able to technically look at the frames per second and performance of different consoles. With the recent launch of Golden eye 007 on Nintendo Switch and Xbox Game Pass (affiliate link), many fans are returning to the game and some are wondering which version is better.

Digital Foundry recently released a video comparing these new ports to the original N64. They go into a lot of detail with some technical details, some important things to note, some subjective opinions, etc. For example, the Xbox version has the smoothest and fastest frame rate of 30FPS, but the sharper image on the Xbox version does create some flaws. This is just a sampling of the things you’ll hear about in the video, and I highly recommend you watch the entire video below. I found it fascinating. It also really made me want to go back and play my favorite Golden eye game, GoldenEye: rogue agent.
