Razzies apologizes to Ryan Kiera Armstrong, withdraws his candidacy and establishes the minimum age

We spent several days observing the amount of flak the Razzies are receiving for naming 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Worst Actress for her performance in ‘Eyes of Fire.’ Despite some initial statements by the co-founder, John Wilson, in an attempt to justify the performance of the prizes and minimize the matter, finally the organization admitted its mistake and issued a public apology.

Not being enough, Wilson admitted that the criticisms received are valid, that they withdraw Armstrong’s nomination and that they feel “any damage” caused to the actress. Also, the organization has decided to set the minimum age 18 years be nominated in any of its categories.

“Sometimes you do things without thinking, then you get called for it, and then you get it. That’s why the Razzies were created in the first place.

Recent sound criticism of choosing to nominate a 12-year-old Armstrong for one of our awards has shown us just how much insensitive that we have been on this occasion. Like this, we removed Armstrong’s name from the final ballot that our members will be doing next month. We also believe we owe Ms. Armstrong a public apology, e We are sorry for any damages you may have suffered. because of our decisions.

Having learned our lesson, we would also like to announce that, from now on, we have adopted voting guidelines which exclude any actor/actress or director under the age of 18 from being considered for our awards.

Our intention It was never to sink anyone’s career. That’s why our Redeemer Awards were created. We all make mistakes, ourselves included.

Since our motto is ‘Own your bad’ [que podría entenderse como ‘enorgullécete de tus propios errores’] we realize that we too must measure ourselves.
