Everything ends at some point, the “Titans” and “Doom Patrol” series are no exception. HBO Max announces the cancellation of these two DC Universe productions. The good news is that the two series will have a final season with closed and coherent endings, according to the spokesperson for the platform: “While these will be the final seasons of ‘Titans’ and ‘Doom Patrol,’ we are very proud of these series and excited for their fans to see their climactic finales.”

The series created by DC will end in its fourth season and eyes immediately fell on James Gunn and Peter Safran, CEO of DC Studios. However, following the announcement of the end of the series, Gunn clarified on Twitter that the decision was made it had been taken before his arrival at command from the superhero universe.
The decision to end the series precedes us. But I most certainly wish the best to the talented group of creators, actors and the rest of the crew that produced both shows. https://t.co/jdqDc9TqU1

* “The decision to end the series precedes my arrival, but I certainly wish the best to this talented group of creators, the cast and the rest of the team that produced both series.”
“We are grateful to Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. for delivering such a thrilling, action-packed and heartwarming series. We thank ‘Titans’ showrunner Greg Walker, executive producers Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns, Richard Hatem and the Weed Road Pictures team”, HBO Max spokesperson fired the team from the series. Similarly, the rep also had words for the ‘Doom Patrol’ team: “For ‘Doom Patrol,’ congratulations to showrunner Jeremy Carver and executive producers Berlanti, Schechter, Johns, Chris Dingess and Tamara Becher-Wilkinson. For four seasons, fans have fallen in love with these two series sharing their challenges and concerns and the their legendary battles that save the world over and over again”.
The end of the series seems to leave a internally good taste in the mouthbitter because it ends, but sweet for the moments they shared, according to Walker, showrunner of ‘Titans’ for The Hollywood Reporter: “I am immensely proud of our talented cast, crew, writing staff and their hard work in making all 49 episodes of the past five years possible. […] I could not have had better partners at Berlatini Productions, Warner Bros. Television and HBO Max. […] I am incredibly grateful for your unwavering trust during this process.”said Walker.
Walker did not want to conclude without dedicating a few words to the fans: “Finally, I have to thank our amazing fans for their support, commitment and the passionate community they have created around our series. We still have six episodes to unleash in this world that we hope will give our beloved characters the creative closure we all know they deserve.”
‘Stargirl’ also does not continue
“Titans” and “Doom Patrol” aren’t the only series in the DC universe to end. Even ‘Stargirl’, the series created by Geoff Johns, has finished its production, but with less luck than the other two, since he won’t be able to properly wrap up his story arcs in a fourth season. Brec Bassinger, the series’ lead actress, questioned a possible crossover with “Titans” by posting a photo in which Ryan Potter (“Titans”) appeared with Johns and “Stargirl” director Erin Dean. The ‘Titans’ showrunner talked about it timidly on TVLine, where he didn’t rule out the idea of a future, for now distant: “I’d love to do a ‘Stargirl’ crossover. […] Geoff Johns, works in mysterious ways. That’s all I’ll say about it.”said Walker. Be that as it may, ‘Stargirl’, ‘Titans’ and ‘Doom Patrol’ join the list of final series, where there were already others such as ‘The Flash’, ‘Riverdale’ or ‘Nancy Drew’.
