Less than two months away from the Oscars, which will be held at dawn March 12-13 at the Dobly Theater in Los Angeles. From eCartelera we’ve rounded up the nominated features and documentaries revealed by actress Allison Williams and actor Riz Ahmed so you don’t miss any.
It’s a curious year, with the most nominated films as varied as the unclassifiable ‘Everything at once everywhere’, the German anti-war drama ‘All Quiet on the Front’, the Irish ‘The Battle of Inisherin’ or the biopic ‘Elvis’. Netflix got pats on the back in this editionbeing the producer behind the most nominated foreign film and the distributor of the controversial ‘Blonde’, which earned Ana de Armas a nomination, as well as the sequel ‘Puñales por el espalda: El misterio de Glass Onion’ and the Indian film is was a real discovery: ‘RRR’.

If it is true that in previous years there had been an increase in the presence of women in the general categories, this year only Sarah Polley managed to gain a foothold in the sections for best film and best adapted screenplay with ‘Ellas hablan’. These two nominations are the most a woman has received this year.
Most are available on the most popular platforms, at a flat rate or with the option to rent or buy, but they are already on the bill or soon. However, we can trust this almost all of them will be available well in advance of the night of the event, so there is no excuse to catch up and bet on any cheers in a very informed way: You can moan, laugh or cry, but you’ll have to see them first! In eCartelera we will be on April 12th from our Chirping and our website by following which stars and movies will finally win the golden statuette.
