Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress, Rachel Brosnahanstar of The wonderful Mrs. Maiselis teaming up once again with Amazon studios to make a new limited series titled Lois & Varga. The series is based on a short story by Lisa Taddeo. Miriam Battye (Succession) is adapting the story for the screen, with Bodies Bodies Bodies director Halina Reijn attached to steer the pilot.
The official logline states that the show “follows a married couple who move to a small, vaunted island after inheriting a paradisiacal lot of oceanfront property. But once they arrive, they meet Varga, the island’s only stripper and yoga teacher, who begins to ominously unravel their lives.
Brosnahan will executive produce under her banner Scrap Paper Pictures as well as co-star Julie Waters. Battye also executive produces alongside Reijn and Taddeo.
Taddeo is a well-known author and journalist whose non-fiction book Three women is currently being adapted into a starring Showtime series Shailene Woodley, Betty Gilpin, DeWanda Wise, Blair Underwood, And Gabrielle Creevy. His novel Animal is currently in development as a film by MGM and Plan B.
