Wizards of the Coast hasn’t gotten much publicity lately. They pissed off Magic: the gathering players with the 30th anniversary screening, and now there’s the whole thing Dungeons & Dragons pile of shit they did. Well, one of those D&D mess is related to the online toolset for the game, D&D Beyond. There have been some rumors that the platform will rework into two tiers soon. The free tier will be extremely limiting and the reworked system will remove the option for homebrew items even in private games. Rumors also included AI Dungeon Masters implementation and more.
Combine this with the OGL 1.1 fiasco and things look awful. After all, tons of D&D Beyond subscribers have canceled their subscriptions and even caused the site to crash due to the mass exodus. This in turn was most likely the cause of any WotC comments on the OGL 1.1 mess as it directly hit their pockets. So, they have to keep what they can, right? These rumors weren’t helping. D&D Beyond has actually responded to the rumors on social media, claiming they are false and even directing people to their Discord server to find a DM.
Hello everybody. We have seen misinformation emerge and want to address it head-on so we can allay your concerns. 🧵

The thread also addresses another entry to which no one D&D review the feedback provided in playtest surveys. This is in collaboration with the designers of D&D who said feedback is looked into and used. You can read the designer’s response Makenzie De Armas details on how feedback is typically reviewed are detailed below.
Hi, true #WotCStaff and D&D Designers here. I am accredited in several versions of UA and have made changes to that content based on the results of both qualitative and quantitative surveys.
Let’s look at what goes on behind the scenes at a UA, shall we? 🧵 https://t.co/ZY8DihQGcf
