This year the 2023 Oscars will be back again with another edition to the best of Hollywood, and expect them to surprise with moments that truly recognize the work of the industry, and moments like the slap of Will Smith or the blunder of “La La Land” ‘ remains in the background. That’s why these are the movies you can’t miss and where to see them.
One of Films of 2022 that will definitely be at the Oscars of 2023 is ‘Aftersun’, the directorial debut of Charlotte Wells, which has been widely applauded by all the critics and pundits in its path. The story follows a father and her daughter, a young woman who recalls a vacation with her father 20 years ago, reflecting on how much has changed. Available on MUBI.
The Banshees of Inisherin
After participating in ‘The Batman’, Colin Farrell and Barry Kheoghan star in ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ with Brendan Gleeson by Martin McDonagh. It is one of unmissable films at the Oscars 2023, and is sure to appear in multiple Academy Award categories, for its spooky tale of a damaged friendship. It does not yet have a theatrical release date.
The whale
another god films that will be nominated for an Oscar is ‘The Whale, the latest film from director Darren Aronofksy, under the shelter of A24, and with the lead role of Brendan Fraser, which has received all the praise of the specialized press, as well as Sadie Sink, who brings to life aa Max in ” Stranger Things”. The film has a powerful story about obesity and reconciliation, and you can see it in theaters February 9th.

The Fabelmans
Steven Spielberg also returned to present his most personal and unique work to date, ‘The Fabelmans’. It is a film with autobiographical overtones in which the acclaimed director of ‘Jurassic Park’ reflects on his childhood and on some of his most important moments with his parents, played by Paul Dano and Michelle Williams. It opens on January 26 at the cinema.
TAR
Todd Field is a director with an impressive record, and he returned this year to perform with a bang at the Oscars with ‘TÁR’, a film starring Cate Blanchett. In this case, both the director and his leading man could lead the list of nominees in their respective categories. It opens Feb. 9 in theaters.
All everywhere at the same time
And finally, a film that will surely take the night and that we will be able to see in many of the categories of the Oscars will be “Everything everywhere at the same time”. The masterpiece of “Danies” with Michelle Yeoh, and which is one of the most psychedelic and unique journeys through the multiverse that has been seen in a long time.
