Pattinson became a teenage phenomenon with the release of the ‘Twilight’ saga and his rise to fame brought with it a phenomenon among fans who swooned over the ‘young’ vampire. Fifteen years later, the Brit opens up to ES about the toll it has taken on him being on “hottest actor” lists and the strain on his physique in his profession.

Dancing in public and being the center of attention are the two great fears revealed by Pattinson in the interview. As for the physique, the actor confesses it she has never had a problem with her body imagebut she followed a few weight-loss treatments for a recovery: “Once I ate only boiled potatoes and Himalayan pink salt for two weeks, as a detox. It seems to cleanse you… definitely lose weight.”, reveals the English interpreter. The keto method is another one of the regimens that the actor underwent. It consists of eating only boards of cold cuts and cheeses. However, there was one condition that didn’t quite convince him: “You Can’t Drink Beer”.

Food, training and image have been matter of torment for the actor, as he said in another interview for MovieMaker. The actor confesses that he was fully involved in the controversy with the statements he made to GQ in which he denied keeping his body in any way. Now, Pattinson wants to clear that up it was a jokeexpanding the statements by alluding to the problems his words brought him: “I had a lot of trouble for saying I didn’t exercise, even my coach said: why do you say that?”. The controversy has made the ‘Water for Elephants’ actor reconsider, who warns of the dangers of beauty standards: “Yeah, that’s crazy […] It’s also very easy to fall into this pattern, even if you’re just watching your calorie intake, it’s incredibly addictive and you don’t realize how insidious it is until it’s too late.”warns Pattinson.

Also, he didn’t want to miss the opportunity to express how he feels when his physique is the focus of interviews: “It’s kinda embarrassing when you get used to answering questions about your training because there will always be someone fitter than you”.

Pattinson is currently filming his next film, ‘Mickey Mouse 17’ where he will occupy not one, but two roles. The film will be directed by Bong Joon-ho, director of the 2019 Oscar-winning Best Picture, ‘Parasites’. ‘Mickey Mouse 17’ is the adaptation of Edward Ashton’s book and is a science fiction story that transcends a thesis about experimentation and methods of scientific advancement. Pattinson, who will star in the film, will play a man and his clones, a new challenge that in the actor’s own words: “It’s like nothing I’ve ever done before […] And that’s saying a lot”. Other stars of the current scene will also participate in ‘Mickey Mouse 17’: Steven Yeun (‘NOP’, Mark Ruffalo (‘The Adam Project’), Naomi Ackie (‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’), Holliday Grainger (‘An Irish Song’ ) and Toni Collette (‘The Alley of Lost Souls’).
