Mayor of Kingston co-creator Taylor Sheridan and showrunners Hugh Dillon launched the series with big plans for future seasons, and they’re hoping to see those plans through to completion Jeremy RennerIt’s a terrible accident.
The series just returned for its second season and Dillon, who also plays Ian on the series, hopes to be able to start work on season three by the end of the summer. He explained to Deadline:
“Taylor and I have more ideas for more seasons. If everything goes to plan with Paramount plus and everything, I would think we would start in August, September, maybe pre-production in the summer.”
This is obviously a series they have big plans for, but as you can imagine, what happened to Renner could very well impact the future of the show in a number of ways. But one thing we know for sure is that Renner has a long road to recovery. When asked about Renner’s crash, Dillon said:
“I heard about it from one of the other producers. I saw it on the news and then he sent me a video. It’s so funny. I just think about that guy’s world and I’m happy that he’s surrounded by his family. Anything we can do to help, we will. That’s the most important thing. It’s like family.
Mayor of Kingstown is a great show and I hope they can continue. But, first of all, Renner has to improve.
The series follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the incarceration business is the only thriving industry. Tackling the themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series offers a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a city that has neither.
The series is also starring Dianne Wiest, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley And Aidan Gillen.
