Posting a modest bid to replace Chris Pratt with Patrick Wilson in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series, a fan started a firestorm of back and forth, including a staunch defense of Pratt from director James Gann.
On Saturday, Twitter user @themeghanlodon_ posted photos of the two actors side by side with the “Marvel. Listen to me. Just change it.”

The Twitterverse posted a comment urging Pratt to replace him, among other issues, due to his argument with the church that supports gay conversion therapy.
Defenders director James Gany was among those who responded. His first message was: “For what? Is it because of your false and utterly false belief about him? Because of something someone else told you about him, right? Chris Pratt will never move into the Star Lord position, but if he did, we’d all go with him.

While some continue to claim that Pratt was a member of a particular church and enumerate issues with his teachings, others point out that Pratt was never proven to be a member of that church.
Gunn wrote in response to the group above:
not him. I know the church you currently attend. Jen? (The answer is no, but have you ever heard from anyone who’s heard of where you’re going to church, so decide, “Yeah, well, I’m going to believe this horror I heard about this famous man on the internet!”)

Gunn was, of course, released by Disney in 2018 due to an inappropriate joke he made on Twitter nearly 10 years ago. Pratt and his bodyguards, Dave Bautista and Zoe Saldana, pressed for the director’s reinstatement.
