Netflix has released the first trailer for True Spiritan adult dramatic sailing adventure film chronicling the inspiring and harrowing real-life journey of 16-year-old Australian teenager Jessica Watson and how she became the youngest person in the world to sail the world solo.

I really enjoy watching these kind of thought provoking movies and it seems like this one will take the audience on quite an intense adventure. I really know nothing about sailing and can’t help but be impressed and inspired by those who have these kinds of amazing skills and are dedicated to pushing the limits.
Stars of true spirit Teagan Croft as Jessica Watson and the film was directed by Sara Spillane from a script he co-wrote with Rebecca Banner And Cathy Randall. The film also stars Cliff Curtis, Bridget Webb, Vivien Turner, Stacy Clausen, Todd Lasancewith Josh Lawson And Anna Paquin.
In this story, “When dogged young sailor Jessica Watson sets out to be the youngest person to sail solo, nonstop, and unassisted around the world, many expect her to fail. With the support of her sailing instructor and mentor Ben Bryant (Curtis) and her parents (Lawson and Paquin), Jessica is determined to achieve what was thought to be impossible, navigating some of the most challenging ocean stretches in the world over the course of 210 years. days”.
Paquin said in an interview with EW: “Jessica Watson’s story is an amazing story of perseverance in the face of obstacles and when all the odds are against you. As a mother, I’m always really excited to find inspiring role models for my children to look up to when they take on challenges. And being a young girl who has managed to do that makes it all the more special because so much… is traditionally centered around boys and their adventures and achievements. I hope audiences of all ages and the genders feel encouraged to pursue their dreams and goals, no matter how out of reach they may seem.”
The trailer highlights his bravery as he faces several struggles while at sea, including gigantic storms and also trying to overcome his dyslexia while reading his map.
The film will be available on Netflix from February 3rd. The film is based on Watson’s book about her harrowing journey.
