He has millions of followers. He is a dancer. He is a singer. He is such a cute boy. He sent a video to my children. Maybe we should put them in the next episode. He is an Instagram star.
The actress added, “Then right there at the table, Rick Eid texted the casting director and then he showed me his response and said, ‘Are you kidding me? Milo can’t be wasted in three scenes on an Instagram star. You’ll write an entire episode for him. So it was nice at the time to see Rick fond of Milo because Jeffrey Donovan was fond of him. And then the casting director said, “No, he’s too good for this little part.” Let’s write something big for him. So that was a very sweet moment for me. I am a proud mother. I can not wait.
In addition to finally bringing her son onto the show, the Emmy winner wants to learn more about Dixon as the show goes on. Dixon’s son is deaf and Camryn hopes to feature him on the show in the future. Camryn is fluent in sign language and will switch to Law and order: SVU again to help with a case involving a deaf person.
“I was having lunch with Marisca [Hargitay]. We were having a girls lunch. She told me she was very excited for the next episode to have deaf people in it. She didn’t know she knew sign language. And I said, ‘You know, I’m fluent in sign language. This is very exciting. We need more deaf people on TV.’ She picked up the phone, texted someone and said, “Camryn is fluent in sign language, can we get her on our show?” Five days later, they call me and say, ‘You will SVU.’ That’s how it really works. The mayor of New York, as I call her Mariska, texts someone and it happens. I was excited. It’s exciting for me to work with deaf actors. There are so many incredibly talented people and marry two things that I love: acting and my second language that I worked so hard to learn, and it’s become a part of my life.”
Camryn stressed that it’s “very important to have representation for all the people watching TV and looking for themselves. All my life I’ve been looking for someone who looks like me and I haven’t been able to find him. I had to forge my own way. It would have been a better childhood and adult life if there were sophisticated, older women who were smart, intelligent, and sexy on TV. But it didn’t exist when I was young. I think Law and order it has a duty to follow the procedure correctly, and I believe that all television and movies have a duty to represent the citizens of our world.
