Jeremy Renner remains in intensive care after undergoing surgery

Jeremy Renner remains in critical condition after being involved in a snowplow accident. The actor, best known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been in pain “a severe chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” on New Year’s Day, according to her rep in a statement collected in People. After being transferred by air to a hospital in Nevada (United States), Renner had to undergo surgery, although he remains stable.

“We can confirm that, following severe chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, Jeremy underwent surgery on 2 January 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.. Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses who care for him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, City of Reno, Nevada Mayor Hillary Schieve; and to the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring fans are sending them love and support.”reads the press release.

The North American media TMZ quotes several witnesses of the accident as saying that, despite the safety measures, the actor was hit by his snow blower and suffered tremendous loss of blood. Apparently one of his neighbors, a doctor, he was able to place a tourniquet on his injured leg while they waited for paramedics. This incident occurred after a heavy snowfall in Washoe County, the area where the actor’s ranch is located. The storm, which caused 35,000 homes to lose power, would have added to the already generous blanket of snow which Renner himself showed through his social networks at the beginning of last December.

Wishing a speedy recovery

Not only are Jeremy Renner’s fans sending their messages of encouragement through social networks, but together with their followers, several Hollywood stars wanted to express their wishes for a speedy recovery for the actor. Among the filmmakers who shared his concern stands out James Gunn, Marvelite director and current co-leader of the DC Universe, whose heart is with Renner.

Also Josh Gad (‘Frozen’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’) expressed his surprise through social networks, guaranteeing praying for the interpreter and his family; and Mark Ruffalo, one of the original Avengers, joined in wishing his partner a “quick recovery” through their Instagram Stories. The rest of the original Avengers, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth, with whom he shares a very good relationship; they have not yet spoken publicly.
